Conversion of
Shipping Containers.
Maritime containers are metal structures with incredible strength, and with imagination, they can be transformed into spectacular homes, offices, shops, and pools, as well as other types of buildings for either permanent or temporary use.
The refurbishment of these containers is a great help to the environment because it reuses between 2 to 4 tons of iron that would otherwise have ended up as scrap, causing pollution. Moreover, the fact that almost everything can be done in the workshop allows for almost zero on-site dirt during installation, improving construction quality.
The transformation of Maritime Containers enables us to create a modular construction, meaning in modules. Everything is fabricated in the workshop and then easily transported to the final location and assembled according to the desired design.
This type of construction also reduces the project execution time, making it cleaner than masonry and promoting sustainability through the use of the latest construction technologies.
The containers we work with are either 20 feet (6m long x 2.44m wide) or 40 feet (12m long x 2.44m wide) and can have a height of either 2.59m or 2.89m. With either of these options, one can create a small house, or by combining several, a sizeable custom-made construction.
We have created a brand that stands out from other businesses, representing what we do—a fusion of the words 'Modular Homes' with 'Containers', resulting in:

Construction Method
Since the containers are entirely made of iron, which is a great thermal conductor, and considering that Portugal easily reaches temperatures above 40ºC, ensuring comfort is not compromised, we recommend a good external insulation. There's nothing better than cork, which provides excellent thermal and acoustic insulation. It is completely natural, domestically available, but we also offer other more economical options.

In terms of insulation and interior and exterior finishes, there is a wide variety of choices, it's a matter of taste and preference.
Feel free to talk to us, and we will be delighted to explain everything and present the best possible option for your situation.

An Excellent Project:
Joshua Tree Residence - Whitaker Studio

A good example of how multiple uses can be given to shipping containers in the same space..
